Community Mediation

Community mediation offers an opportunity to explore disagreements in a supportive setting.

Court cases are decided on the basis of legal rights and remedies, often overlooking the importance of people's feelings and emotions. The mediation process welcomes and acknowledges feelings as an important basis for an amicable resolution.

Roots of Conflict

Typical discord between neighbors can involve noise, arguments, garbage, parking,

verbal abuse, property encroachment or a host of things. Misunderstandings can arise over anything and if allowed to fester can escalate. Discord can also exist within businesses, within HOA‘s, between employers and employees, or within any group of people.

Complementary Visit

The first step in this process is contacting Hughes Mediation to schedule a 30 minute complimentary visit. During this first visit, the clients outline the issues most relevant to their situation. Michele explains the ground rules and how most mediation sessions work.

Moving Forward

Unlike litigation, which is an adversarial approach, mediation is a collaborative approach. The mediator can point out areas of overlapping interests and can encourage the parties to generate ideas that would be mutually beneficial.

The hourly fee is $350.
